First and foremost, Happy 7th Birthday Walter!
Alice approached me to book a canine shoot as a surprise for her boyfriend, she expressed that their dogs were a very important part of their lives and as such wanted to gift something thoughtful and personal. Alice explained that she has had her Kelpie Walter his whole life (7 years now), and 5 years ago when she met Dom they blended families with his pup Ferg.
Alice explains that both dogs have very different personalities. Walter loves being outside no matter the weather, in the water, running through forests whereas Ferg only enjoys the outdoors when it’s freezing. If it’s not cold enough, he’s on the couch watching TV. Despite their preferences, these two have been inseparable since they day they met.
It was clear on shoot the love these two have for each other, and also Alice. Alice has spent a lot of time working with Walter, telling me that her greatest achievement with him has been mastering off lead training. She dreams of the day that she can ride her bike with Walter running freely beside her. She also dreams of the day she can teach Ferg not to sit on Walter.
On asking Alice her experience of the day, and and whether she enjoyed it, she had this to say:
”From the moment I contacted Anita I knew she was going to create something special for me. Having never done any sort of photoshoot, she gave me great direction with the dogs and was incredibly patient. Her communication before, during and the after shoot was above and beyond what you’d expect. I cannot wait to shoot with her again!”
As I write this, we are already in discussion about our future shoots, which may or may not include matching ugly sweaters.
